Product Description
From pioneers of baby carrying in Europe 35 years ago, Didymos wraps today are well respected and recognized for their high quality among other German style woven wrap manufacturers.
All Didymos slings are made from pure organic cotton, without any artificial and dangerous materials during the whole manufacture process of the Didymos.
The raw cotton comes from a biologically controlled cultivation – without the use of artificial fertilizers, cotton is harvested by hand to avoid the use of chemically defoliating agents required with machine harvests; the dyes used are not poisonous, free from any heavy metals and completely non-allergic to the skin; auxiliary materials like dressings or lubricants are not used during the weaving process.
From spinning the yarns to the final packaging, Didymos wraps are all made in Southern Germany or Austria to guarantee the same high quality of all wraps.
The ‘Waves” belong to the so-called Didymos Jacquard family. Jacquard is the art of weaving a pattern into the fabric. The manufacture of this fabric is very expensive and hence has nearly disappeared today.
Didymos slings woven in Jacquard-style are quite smooth and show the pattern on both sides of the fabric – the colour of pattern being inverted on the backside.
The Didymos Waves are also the airiest weaves, the thinnest and lightest of all German style woven wraps, hence very appreciated in warmer climates.
Eventually a bit rough brand new, Didymos Waves will soften up over the uses and washes.
Main characteristics of Didymos wraps:
Didymos wraps are woven in such a way that they support the body of the child all over evenly and have built-in elasticity;
Even after a long time of use and pressure they do not stretch and wear out;
The edges have double hems so that the cloth of the sling keeps its shape even after prolonged carrying;
The cloth of the sling stays soft and elastic even after many washes;
The fabric wraps round the carrier’s and baby’s body ensuring safe support all around;
The baby’s weight is evenly spread on the wearer’s hips and shoulders;
Baby feels protected and secure, and reassured close to his/her parent.
A Didymos wrap can be used with babies from newborn up to 3 years in many different positions.
Didymos wraps are supportive enough to enjoy a nice ‘after-babywearing’ life as a climbing or swinging rope or a hammock!
Care recommendation:
Didymos Waves are washable at normal temperatures, up to 60oC .
Every Didymos wrap comes with a bilingual German/English DVD and an instructional booklet on how to tie and carry your wrap.
The Didymos wraps with a 4.20m length, or so-called size 5 will allow babywearers up to size 12/14 to carry baby in every position – cradle, hip, rucksack, kangaroo and cross carry.
The Didymos wraps with a 4.70m length, or so-called size 6 will allow babywearers up to size 16 to carry baby in every position – cradle, hip, rucksack, kangaroo and cross carry.
